My TV has curved edges and some of the edges have a rainbow effect. How can I fix this?
I have tried the service menu and changing the values. Nothing works. And there is also a horizontal line floating up
The rainbow effect suggests that de-gaussing is needed. Modern TV's do this automatically when you first turn them on - often you will hear a loud hum for a fraction of a second. If it's an older TV, you need a shop to do the degaussing for you.
The line floating up could be a power supply issue, in particular, an electrolytic filter capactor drying up.
Given how inexpensive new TV's are today, it would probably be cheaper to get a new one than take your existing one into a shop to get it fixed. Possibly you could get a few dollars for the old one on craigslist, but not much.
If this is an LCD or Plasma TV that you have, disregard what I just said - it only applies to an old CRT-based TV.
