Why can't we vary voltage in a D.C. Current from an inverter???
We know that D.C. is a steady current. We also know that we can convert a D.C. into A.C. with the help of an inverter. Now that the A.C. is a variable current which can be varied with the help of transformer. So, why can't (or can we??) we vary the voltage of a D.C. Current, when we know that an inverter can convert current from D.C. to A.C.?? If D.C. is converted into A.C. with the help of inverter, then we know that A.C. is variable and can be varied with the help of a transformer. So, can we vary voltage of the current generating from an inverter?? If yes, then how??? If no, then how??? Please help. If yes, then, if I want to run my TV on an inverter, then can I connect the TV to the transformer and give the output voltage of 100V rather then 250V to the TV??? By this, I mean to save energy. If the transformer, only gives 100 V to the TV rather then the usual 250V voltage, then, in my sense, 150V can be saved. Is it so?? Please give answers of all the questions asked.

You don't really have a clue what you are talking about, and you are trying to run before you can walk, thus getting totally confused.

This is completely mixed up. You can't 'save energy' this way. If your TV needs a certain amount of energy (at a particular voltage and current), then it NEEDS that amount of energy, and nothing you do EXTERNALLY to your TV will alter that. You may use an 'DC to AC inverter' to provide the right amount of energy at the right Voltage and AC current to run your TV, but you will have 'losses' in this circuit anyway, so you will use MORE total energy, not save any!

Now an 'inverter' may be any one of a number of various circuits - they were originally an interrupted DC current thru a contact like a bell that used this to drive a transformer. Nowadays they are electronic switches, using electronic components, that convert DC input to a higher DC voltage. If you want AC current output, then you use another switching circuit to generate the AC.
