Scart switchbox - RGB input?
My TV has only one RGB scart input socket so I went to my local TV dealer for a switchbox so that I can put Freeview and DVD player through without needing to switch connectors. He told me that it isn't necessary that the switch box inputs be specifically RGB inputs - as long as all 21 pins are wired. I bought what he suggested but the pictures through the box into the RGB socket are rubbish - definitely non-RGB quality. Was he right or do I need to buy an RGB Scart switch box? Grateful for any advice.
you have one of 2 choices, you can either use your scart socket for your freeview and rca connections for your dvd player, i do assume that you got a set of leads with the dvd player which were r/w/y on each end? if so then you can use them from the dvd player and the tv ( im assuming that you have these connections on the tv). how much did you pay for the switch box? less than £25 if so then it wont be rgb but if more then it will be. is your tv an lcd/plasma cos really buying and rgb lead for a crt tv will not be noticeable.
