Problem with External hard-drive?
hi,can anyone solve this problem or point me in the right direction,i try to open the H/D and get F:/ not accessible access denied,i have been into disc management and it shows My Book,which is the H/D healthy primary partitions,device manager says drivers ok.I have a second laptop the same model in which it works well with exactly the same settings,i have gone into SYSTEM restore,changed cables,i can see no other options can anyone help,the External H/D is the Weston 320GB my Book. thanks in advance.

You might need to change the security settings on the drive.
Right click the drive icon in "computer".
Select Properties
Go to the Security tab
Add a user called "everyone"
(unless its already there)
Assign "Full Control" rights to that user.
You should now be able to view that drive.
This will work in Vista and in XP Professional
If you have *XP Home* you'll need to go into Safe Mode first before the Security tab is visible.
